When Fahe Members work together, state-level progress is possible.
As Kentucky and Tennessee wrap up their legislative cycles, we’re seeing important signs of momentum for housing and community development across the region.
In Kentucky, the session resulted in several meaningful progress indicators, including:
• A $5 million investment in the Affordable Housing Trust Fund over the next two years
• $5 million to establish a CDFI Grant Program supporting housing, commercial real estate, and community facilities
• Passage of “Yes in God’s Backyard” legislation, which will allow religious institutions to develop affordable housing
This progress reflects strong work across the Fahe Network and our partners in Kentucky. Including Fahe Membership, Fahe staffer Kylie Milliken’s leadership, and the generous support, insight, and partnership of Adrienne Bush and HHCK.
In Tennessee, the state is advancing a $20 million workforce housing pilot, supported by significant education and advocacy from Creative Compassion Executive Director Christy Donlinich, whose local and state-level work has helped leaders understand why this investment matters.
These outcomes show what becomes possible when local leaders, Members, partners, and advocates bring practical solutions to the table.
Housing can’t wait — and the Fahe Network is helping move solutions forward.
