Thanks From a Dedicated Homeowner

Owning a home is one of the most important decisions a person  can make in their life.   While we at Fahe work with home buyers to make sure they are ready before they make the first step, there are still life events that crop up which can put a strain on finances and priorities.  While we believe in the responsibility of the homeowner we also understand that we play a very important role in helping people stay in their homes.  Fahe holds high stock in the importance and responsibility of our Loan Servicing Department to identify need and to take action to help people keep their home.

Sometimes Loan Servicing clients reach out to express their gratitude. We want to share one particularly touching letter that we received which acts as a solid reminder of why we work in housing.

To Whom It May Concern,

This letter is to express how grateful I am for Amy Rogers at Fahe in assisting me through my long journey.  She was very understanding about what I had experienced over the last year.

My home means everything to me.  After ending two marriages due to domestic violence, it was my goal to become a homeowner instead of renting places for myself and my daughter to live. To me, renting was just throwing money away and I felt owning a home would be something that no one would ever be able to take from me.

Over the last year and half my life has been an upside down journey that I would have never imagined that I would experience in my lifetime.

My daughter was close to graduating college when she decided she could not complete her last 2 years to achieve her degree.  I moved her home in January of 2014 and within a couple of months she became an active addict of drugs of every kind and would use in any way imaginable.  There was a time during this that I felt I would be making her final arrangements. She was also homeless for about 2 months because I would not tolerate drugs in my home. She went into treatment in November of that year and is coming up on her year mark of being clean.  She is now going to be a mother.

Recently, I have lost my father, which was devastating to me and felt as though my world had been turned upside down yet again.

Through this entire journey, I was trying to keep my daughter from going to jail, attempting to work on my bachelor’s degree, and take care of my home, which I was unsuccessful with. My finances went upside down in a huge way.

Through all this disaster I called my life, I never once felt judged by Amy in any way.  She listened, gave me advice on the steps I needed to attempt to turn things right side up, and she helped me dust things off and move forward.  For that I am very grateful and I promise each of you at Fahe I will never forget this act of kindness.  My home means everything to me… I worked a night shift job, went to school, and worked to get my sweat equity hours in towards building my home.
