Thousands of families are served every year in Central Appalachia through the Fahe Network.  Our Members are leaders in their communities and directly responsible for providing opportunity, hope, and change as we work together to eliminate persistent poverty in Appalachia.

Fahe Member Creative Compassion, Inc. (CCI) is based in Crossville, TN and serves low-to moderate-income individuals and families in Cumberland, Fentress, Putnam, and White counties.  CCI provides access to affordable housing, home repairs, and credit training.

Recently Creative Compassion was able to serve a single father of two teenage children.  Philip is a local business owner of a construction company who has dreamed of owning a home for years.  However, before that dream could become a reality, Phillip had to work on becoming credit worthy.  Through years of hard work and routine check-ins with CCI staff, he was able to achieve that dream in April 2019.  Several organizations were involved in bringing the home to fruition including Tennessee Housing Development Authority, Housing Assistance Council, Fahe, and USDA RD Cookeville.

Creative Compassion also recently helped two elderly homeowners access funding to get their roofs replaced.  Both homes were suffering from severe leakage and damage to the interiors. Both women were facing over $6,000 in repairs that they couldn’t afford on their fixed incomes.

Thanks to CCI and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, these two women were able to get their roofs repaired which will allow them to safely age in place in the homes they love.
