The greatest gift of the season is the knowledge that you have helped change someone’s life for the better. As a small thank you during the Christmas season we wanted to share some of the sentiments from families that have been helped through the Fahe Network during 2015. Without your continued support of Appalachia, the realization of their dreams wouldn’t be possible.
Anna and Stephen Newman: Oak Ridge, TN – Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties: “I have not been sick [since moving into my new home]. It’s been forever since I have had to go to the doctor. This house is wonderful, I am so thankful. Not only did this house save my life, it helped give me a life to look forward to.”
Justin and Mandy McClellan: Monticello, KY – Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation: “We wanted a decent home for our kids in town where they can be more involved with the school and the community. I will remember this for the rest of my life and I hope they do too. I hope they remember helping to build their own house and that it fills them with pride.”
Mary Stamper: Jackson, KY- Housing Development Alliance: On her family working to build their own home: “I want my children to see what a full day of tough manual labor is, that way they will appreciate their education and want to have a better life.”
Shelby Rector: Monticello, KY – Fahe and Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation: “Having a home has changed my life and given me and my daughter a great future. This home and this entire experience have given me a sense of independence I never expected to have. I’m very excited and grateful.”
Mr. Grateful: Memphis, TN – Fahe Loan Servicing Client: “Knowledge empowers you. Fahe empowered me by educating me on every process [involving my mortgage]. It wasn’t until I spoke to Janet Stepp at Fahe that I learned how to really plan for my future.”
Thanks to your support, Fahe helps tens of thousands of people every year gain access to life-changing resources not normally found in Appalachia. These resources provide homes people can afford, creates jobs that provide living wages, and develops proper infrastructure that allows access to healthcare, fresh food, and business growth. Thanks to your support, Appalachians not only have a Happy Holiday, but a Happy Life year round. Thank you.
