2014 will be an exciting time for Fahe. In 2013 we helped thousands of families through community building and homeownership. We hope to increase the number from our previous year and continue to set the bar higher. There are several exciting events coming this year including:
Hickory Hill Recovery Center for Men – This is currently under construction but when finished, the facility will treat 100 men at a time. Drug abuse and addiction has taken a serious toll on Eastern Kentucky and facilities such as this help not only the clients, but also the community become healthier.
Reconnecting McDowell Teachers’ Village – Reconnecting McDowell is an initiative to improve the economic structure of McDowell County WV by fortifying the education system and empowering the future generations. Fahe is working with the American Federation of Teachers to build a teachers’ village to provide interested education professionals with adequate and affordable housing – something much needed in the area.
Expanding Alabama Membership – In 2013 we expanded our borders into Alabama for the first time. We are working to increase the membership in the area so that Fahe can provide even more needed assistance to the people of Alabama.
New Office Space – Currently Fahe’s office space is spread across three buildings. We broke ground last year and we are looking forward to moving into one central office building. Our new office will not only serve as Fahe’s new base of operations but will also serve as meeting space for our members. This has been a long time coming and we’re very excited.
