Have you ever tasted Skeeter’s World Famous Hotdogs?  Have you ever had the chance to bask in the glory of Hugh, the giant goose statue of Hazard?   Have you ever had your breath taken away by the beauty of the scenic overlook into Clinch Valley?  I have.

As I travel around Appalachia to meet with Fahe members and talk with people and families in the region, I’m privileged to visit a lot of interesting places, be they natural locations or unique and tasty family owned restaurants.   Even though I’ve lived in Kentucky all my life, I’m sometimes surprised by the amount of culture, beauty, and fun that can be found in my backyard.

Because of this, I’ve decided that these special places are too good to keep to myself so our Fahe blog will now have a regular feature called The Appalachian Travel Guide.

The Appalachian Travel Guide will mostly feature locations that I am traveling to for work.  However, if over the course of time you think there’s a place of importance that I’m missing, feel free to drop me a line and make a suggestion.  I’m always up to see a new sight or try a new bite to eat.
